The tsunami destroyed everything on its way. Cars, ships and buildings were sept away by walls of water which hit about 400 km north-east of Tokyo. More than 10,000 people were dead and about 7.000 missing . About 350,000 people have become homeless. Thousands of people who live near the Fukusima nuclear power plant have been ordered to move because of the radiation. Then, foyr nuclear power plants were shut down safely. The tsunami in 2011 was one of the most terrible disasters inJapanand it will take Japanese people a long time recover.
