Read the following passage and mark the letter A, B, C, or Dto indicate the correct answer to each of the questions.
Plastic pollution is one of the biggest environmental issues facing the world today. This essay is going to explain some problems it causes and some possible solutions. One problem caused by plastic pollution is the damage it causes to sea life. People throw plastic into rivers or on beaches and it gets into the ocean. Many fish eat the plastic and can get very sick. People can even get sick from eating these fish. Governments around the world should make people pay large fines for throwing plastic onto the ground or into rivers. This should make people scared to litter and reduce plastic pollution.
Another problem caused by plastic pollution is the amount of space needed to store it. Many plastics take as long as 600 years to disappear. Many objects, such as straws or bottles, are only used once. After that, they are often sent to landfill sites where they are left. These sites could be parks for children to play in or forests for animals to live in. Governments around the world should ban single-use plastics. If the plastic can be recycled or reused, it doesn't need to be stored in a landfill.
To conclude, plastic pollution causes damage to sea life and needs a lot of land to be stored. These problems can be solved by making people pay large fines for littering and by banning single-use plastics.
