Ann:
There are far more natural disasters today than in the past. Every time I switch on the news, I see floods or areas destroyed by earthquakes. Natural disasters are really scary because they can cause a lot of damage to humans and their property. I believe human activities are directly related to all disasters.
Nick:
Some natural disasters are predictable, but some are not. Yesterday, I read about a hurricane which caused flooding in a large area. The flood occurred suddenly when people were sleeping, so many of them were not prepared and were trapped in their flooded homes. I think we should spend more money to develop warning systems for hurricanes, floods, and other disasters.
Hung:
A landslide occurred yesterday in my home town and destroyed my aunt's garden. Luckily, no one in her family was hurt. Deforestation is one of the main reasons for landslides. In my opinion, we should join hands to stop deforestation and other activities that harm our environment.
