Hiệu ứng dây chuyền của hoạt động tình nguyện đối với cuộc sống của các cá nhân có thể rất to lớn. Công việc tình nguyện giúp thúc đẩy sự độc lập và dạy khả năng đối phó với các tình huống khác nhau, thường là đồng thời, do đó dạy mọi người cách làm việc thông qua các hệ thống khác nhau. Do đó nó đưa mọi người va chạm với thế giới thực; và, từ đó, trang bị cho tương lai.
Ban đầu, thanh niên ở tuổi thiếu niên có vẻ không có chuyên môn hoặc kiến thức để truyền đạt cho những người khác nói rằng một giáo viên hoặc một nhà nông nghiệp hoặc y tá sẽ có, nhưng họ có nhiều kỹ năng có thể giúp đỡ người khác. Và việc thiếu những khả năng nhất định, năng lượng và sự nhiệt tình của họ có thể được khai thác vì lợi ích của những người đồng bào của họ, và cuối cùng là chính họ.
